How many of us experienced something and afterwards realized that there were signs right in front of us all along that we completely missed because we were too blind to see them? I remember working with a child who was being sexually assaulted by their parent. After the horrific acts came to light, the staff and I were sick re-living exchanges that were probably clues that we blatantly missed. If it had been another parent, those same clues may have stood out like a Black man at a Klan rally, but we were blinded by the perceptions we were led to believe. Continue reading Hindsight
